TO Call on the Scottish Government to end Scottish Water BOSSES Bonuses 

For a THIRD year in a row, Fisherrow Sands has been classified as ‘poor’ by SEPA, whilst Portobello Beach was forced to close to bathers during the summer due to e-coli levels ten times above the safe limit.

Despite polluted waters, a lack of action and communities restricted from using our beaches, Scottish Water bosses received more than £250,000 in bonuses in the last year alone 

This stinks – both literally (of human waste) and two decades of failure.

Scottish Ministers are responsible for setting pay and bonus levels for Scottish Water. We, the undersigned, are calling on the Scottish Government to scrap executive bonuses while our bathing waters remain polluted and sewage incidents continue to force our beaches to close.

We should not be rewarding water bosses with taxpayer-funded bonuses while local residents and community groups are left dealing with the consequences of sewage pollution. Scottish Water executives must be held accountable, and what we pay them through our bills should depend on delivering clean, safe bathing waters for us all to enjoy.
